“Thousands Turned Away…” 

In 1925, Paramhansa Yogananda may have been the most sought-after speaker in the United States. He shared spiritual insights in a way that Americans could appreciate, offering what he called “original Christianity” as taught by Jesus Christ.

During his first series of classes, the Los Angeles Times reported,

“Thousands being turned away from the three thousand seat philharmonic auditorium.… Swami Yogananda is the attraction. A Hindu invading the United States to bring God in the midst of a Christian community, preaching the essence of Christian Doctrine.”

Yogananda lectured at the Athenaeum Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri on “How to Analyze People at Sight (Using the Mental Microscope).”

The Trojan Women (Ancient Greek: Τρῳάδες, romanized: Trōiades), also translated as The Women of Troy, and also known by its  transliterated Greek title Troades, is a tragedy by the Greek playwright Euripides. The Weirdest Marriage in the World was in the 80's. Started when Swiss Corina Hoffman visited Kenya. Hofmann and her boyfriend Marco made a trip to Kenya. There, she met a Samburu wàrrior named Lketinga Leparmorijo and instantly found him irresistible. She left Marco, went back to Switzerland to sell her possessions, and, in 1987, returned to Kenya, determined to find Lketinga, which she eventually did. The couple moved in together, married, and had a daughter. Hofmann moved into her mother-in-law's manyatta (compound) and learned to live as a Samburu woman, fetching wood and water. She opened a small shop in the village, to sell basic goods. Hofmann suffered several hàrdships, including disèases (mainly malaria) and marital problems. Technology of war in 1914 The planning and conduct of war in 1914 were crucially influenced by the invention of new weapons and the improvement of existing types since the Franco-German War of 1870–71. The chief developments of the intervening period had been the machine gun and the rapid-fire field artillery gun.
