Lieutenant colonel Alan Cozzalio in Vietnam. Known for dressing in an old-fashioned cavalry uniform. Alan "Ace" Cozzalio (August 19, 1946 – April 30, 1993) was a notable



 American army officer celebrated for his exemplary service as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. Originally considered for the Medal of Honor, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, along with the full spectrum of lesser valor commendations. He continued his career in the army, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel before a medical retirement was necessitated by cardiac issues. Cozzalio passed away at 46, six years post-retirement, following complications from a heart transplant surgery.
