This is the kind of TV

This is the kind of TV we had when I was a kid back in the 70s. And back then most homes only had one. So whether it was the Price is Right,




 Saturday morning cartoons or the Sunday night movie we all watched the same thing. During  Comercials we would rush to go to the bathroom or get a snack from the kitchen.

Nowadays most people have a tv in every room of the house and families just don't get together as they use to. These old sets might well be old and outdated but they did something that modern TVs don't they brought us all together in one room. It was a shared experience that modern families don't enjoy and it's sad because as an older person I know what their missing.

The sight of this man should cause a similar revulsion to that of seeing Mussolini, Mao, Stalin or Hitler, as he committed an African genocide that resulted in the killing of over 10 million people in the Congo. Free from Slavery: African Americans in the Civil War In his January 1, 1863, Emancipation Proclamation, Lincoln permanently freed all slaves in all areas then in rebellion against the United States. Often overlooked is an additional provision in that proclamation by which Lincoln specifically authorized the use of freed slaves in Union military service: “And I further declare and make known, that such persons [declared to be free] of suitable condition, will be received into the armed service of the United States to garrison forts, positions, stations, and other places, and to man vessels of all sorts in said service.” Thus, the way was formally cleared for the blacks’ direct participation in the war, the African Americans in the Civil War.
