Women fighting over parking spot turns bloody

A brawl between two women over a parking space in Detroit this week ended with a woman stabbed, police said.

The violence unfolded when two unidentified women, ages 22 and 21, began fighting one another over the parking spot at Rouge Park on the city’s west side — which was captured on video and shared thousands of times across social media.

The footage shows the two women rolling on the ground, violently punching and pulling each other’s hair as a crowd of onlookers cheer them on.

Suddenly, a 30-year-old woman emerged from the crowd and revealed she had been stabbed. The victim was transported to a hospital and was expected to make a full recovery, WDIV-TV reported.

The two fighting women were taken into custody, but no charges had been filed as of Tuesday morning.

“We have an issue out here with how to cope with our problems,” Detroit police Cmdr. Aric Tosqui said. “People arguing over a parking spot escalating to violence, it’s ridiculous that people act that way,” he added.

Tosqui also lamented the fact that so many people scrambled to record the fight — just for entertainment.

“I understand there are folks that don’t want to get involved, but if you don’t want to, then you shouldn’t be egging people on,” Tosqui said.
