Half-naked woman 'drives into lake' in police chase


A 44-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly driving into a Gold Coast lake to escape officers during a police chase.

Detectives said she was spotted driving erratically at Jacobs Well around midnight on Thursday.

It's alleged she completed several laps of a car park before ramming a police car and then speeding off down a boat ramp.

Despite officers activating road spikes, the woman who was just wearing underwear, was able to drive into the water with her dog inside the ute.

Police will allege the Morton Vale woman tried to swim to deeper water to get away from them.

"Three or four officers swam out into the river. We attempted to commandeer several boats, one resident was able to assist us and we were eventually able to remove the woman from the water", Greg Brake, Queensland Police said.



Officers swam to the submerged ute and rescued the woman’s dog which was unharmed.

The woman is expected to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on December 1Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas just made their first official red carpet appearance of the year (other than the Ambani wedding!), showing up at the premiere of The Good Half in Los Angeles on August 13. The actress arrived in an asymmetric one-shoulder wrap dress constructed from sheer black lace embroidered with gold floral motifs and a gold scalloped trim. Tying at the waist with a black satin ribbon to create a hip-high leg slit, the dress (which was really more like a sexy dressing gown, tbh) also revealed Priyanka's shoulder and half her chest.

As such, Priyanka wore a see-through black lace camisole underneath that freed the nip, tucking the top into black micro shorts. She added black heeled mules to her feet and accessorised the look with a silver chain necklace.

As for her beauty look, she styled her brunette hair into loose cascading waves and wore a smokey eye, bringing the right amount of drama to her glam.

Priy's red carpet attire is worlds away from recent OOTD Instagram posts she shared, previously posting a snap of her and daughter Malti Marie's matching pyjamas as well as her casual leopard print beach attire.

Nick spoke to People on the red carpet, saying his daughter Malti had a huge impact on him taking the role of Renn in The Good Half. In the film, Nick portrays an emotionally distant writer who returns home for his mother's funeral and is forced to confront his estranged family.

“I think that, for me, becoming a parent changed everything in my life and my perspective on everything,” the actor/singer said. “That's a natural thing obviously that will happen. My daughter is the light of my world, and making projects that I'll be able to watch one day with her, absolutely a goal. And this movie for sure is one of those.”
