A woman has been taken into custody following a dramatic arrest on the Gold Coast in the early hours of Friday.

Just after midnight police were called to Pimpara, 30 kilometres north of Surfers Paradise, after a woman was seen driving dangerously.A woman has been taken into custody following a dramatic arrest on the Gold Coast in the early hours of Friday.

Just after midnight police were called to Pimpara, 30 kilometres north of Surfers Paradise, after a woman was seen driving dangerously.When officers arrived the female driver rammed a cop car before fleeing to a nearby boat rampDespite police activating road spikes, the woman was able to drive into the water with her dog inside the car.

She tried to swim to deeper water to evade officers however they took control of a private boat and were able to pull her from the lake.

The woman, who was wearing only her underwear, was then taken into custody during a dramatic arrest.

No charges have been laid.
