Court rules against woman who became face of China’s #MeToo movement in landmark verdict Mr Zhu was accused of forcibly groping and kissing Zhou Xiaoxuan while she was an intern at state broadcaster CCTV in 2014. Through a series of social media posts in 2018, Ms Zhou levelled  allegations of sexual harassment against Mr Zhu. He has denied all the allegations.Her accusations took Chinese social media by storm, prompting other women to come forward with their own accounts of sexual harassment. Ms Zhou, popularly known by her online name Xianzi, quickly became the face of the country’s #MeToo movement, sparking a nationwide debate. Ms Zhou filed a lawsuit against Mr Zhu three years ago, seeking a public apology and damages of 50,000 yuan (about £5,600). The Early Days The Marine Corps Reserve Flying Corps (MCRFC) did not get off the ground rapidly after Congress authorized the Naval Appropriations Act of August 1916. On this day, 15 May 1948, the British mandate in Palestine ended on the date which is now  commemorated as Nakba Day - meaning “catastrophe”. Israel declared independence a few hours beforehand, and British forces withdrew that day. The Nakba refers to the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians to make way for the establishment of the state of Israel as a Jewish ethnostate. The United Nations had approved a plan to partition Palestine into separate Jewish and Arab states. According to that plan, the 30% of the population which was Jewish would be given 70% of the land. But around 42% of the population of this land would still be Palestinian Arabs.  To ensure a bigger demographic majority, in December 1947 Zionist militias began a programme of ethnic cleansing, to expel the Palestinian Arab population.
