The Tankgewehr M1918

The Tankgewehr M1918, also known as the Mauser 13mm anti-tank rifle, was first produced in January 1918 for the sole purpose of destroying armoured vehicles. 170cm long and weighing 19kg the rifle was the only anti-tank rifle to see service in




 World War I. Although a limited number saw active service, approximately 16,900 were produced, with some ending up in British hands.

You can see this incredible weapon at the Hooge Crater museum in Belgium.

The First Liberian Civil War ended in August 1997 when Charles Taylor took power as the President of Liberia.  Taylor had initiated the war when he and his militia, the National Patriotic Front of Liberia (NPFL), invaded the country from the Ivory Coast to overthrow President Samuel Doe in December 1989. The NPFL rapidly conquered most of Liberia except for the capital Monrovia, which came under the control of the Independent National Patriotic Front of Liberia (INPFL), a splinter group led by Prince Johnson. The INPFL captured and executed Doe in September 1990 and resisted attempts by the NPFL to take Monrovia, denying Taylor an outright victory and prolonging the war for years. A peace agreement was signed in 1996 between the major factions and resulted in the 1997 Liberian general election. Naked woman slashes three during Pittsburgh-area street fight PITTSBURGH - Pennsylvania authorities were searching on Tuesday for a woman who, apparently nude, stabbed and slashed other women in a street fight at a public housing complex outside of Pittsburgh. The brawl on Monday was captured on cell phones and security cameras, showing the woman wielding a knife and wounding three people, two seriously, according to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania Housing Authority Police Chief Mike Vogel. The woman, identified as La Keysh Collins, 41, of Pittsburgh, appeared to be nude, but Vogel said it was unclear whether she joined the melee clothed or naked. Her clothes could have been ripped off in the fight, he said. "She appeared to be fully naked, but the footage was kind of pixilated," he said. "The cameras don't necessarily tell the whole story."
