EXCLUSIVE: Vicious thugs attack Pride of Britain winner and call her 'dirty foreign immigrant'

Police are investigating after a Pride of Britain winner reported being viciously attacked by three masked men she says called her "a dirty foreign immigrant" and ordered: "Go back to your Muslim country".

Maya Amangeldiyeva was left terrified by the alleged attack in Herne Bay, Kent, last Monday night, following a weekend of vile anti-immigrant riots across Britain. The Turkmenistan-born businesswoman, who runs a community cafe, food bank and free shop providing the needy with a range of goods, has told cops the assault was carried out by three men aged in their 20s wearing black balaclavas close to the town's seafront.

Maya, 36, said: "One of them pushed me and I fell. Then the one who pushed me stood up and was watching the area. One of them was leaning over me, holding down my chest and talking to me, telling me that I have to take a boat and if I don't they're going to finish me off.

He was right in my face, pushing me down. They wanted to scare me and they wanted me to leave. They were literally saying 'You're dirty. You're a dirty foreign immigrant - go back to your Muslim country'."Wiping away tears Maya added: "One who was standing up started kicking me. He kicked me around five times or six times. I was shocked. He was kicking me to my tailbone.Maya, who was later treated in hospital in Margate, says she felt helpless and feared she was about to be raped. She said: "It was three of them. What could I possibly do against three men when no one else was there?"I wasn't even talking. I was just crying. I was on the floor the whole time." Maya, who moved to the UK 15 years ago and has a British passport, was honoured with a regional gong in the Fundraiser of the Year category at last year's Pride of Britain Awards.

She was pictured with a number of celebrities at the event, including Karen Hauer, Denise Lewis and Nikki Sanderson. And this May she attended a garden party in the grounds of Buckingham Palace, hosted by King Charles.

Maya says the attack is the latest in a frightening two-year campaign of hate, which she believes have been co-ordinated against her by racists jealous of her becoming a prominent person in her local area. She says she has suffered a number of other recent incidents, including one occasion she says thugs stuffed wet material through her letterbox before her fire alarm went off.

And she has reported another incident when she says she and her husband, who is wheelchair-bound, suffered abuse by four men who were filming them.

Maya was also left shaken by a bogus report of a fire at her business on Friday night, which led to the fire brigade and police being called. She believes the call-out was designed as a threatening warning and has now fled her own home as she is scared it and her business could be attacked.

Police have now installed panic buttons at her businesses and home and put her phone number on a special watchlist.
She said: "For the last two years, I've been through hell. I experienced a lot of racism, but I was just ignoring it.

"I just got used to it after two years of being a public figure, but I had never experienced anything like what happened with the men with the balaclavas." Maya added: "People only see me on the red carpet with all celebrities, or they see me visiting the king for his Coronation, or they see the winning Food Bank of the Year award.

"They see the story where I'm smiling and then they abuse me because I'm foreign. They don't understand how much hard work is behind it. They don't want to accept that someone like me, who they call a 'dirty foreign immigrant' is doing this and is successful."

Maya is defiant she will not be beaten. She said: "I'm not closing any food banks and I'm not taking any boats. I'm not going to give up. I will take one step back to take two steps forward and come back stronger.
