In a major political shift ahead of the Ondo State governorship election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received over 10,000 defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) at a rally held in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area.…

The event, which took place at the PDP Secretariat in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area, was marked by jubilant scenes.

The defectors, led by Alhaji J. Ibrahim, popularly known as Shehu Agba, once regarded as a key pillar of the APC in the area, brought with him a large group of defectors, mostly from the Muslim community in Ore.

In his address to the crowd, he condemned the APC for its failures, urging voters to reject the ruling party in the forthcoming election.

“The APC has brought nothing but hardship and misery to our people,” Ibrahim stated.

“Anyone who votes for them will regret it.”

The PDP governorship candidate, Agboola Alfred Ajayi, made a grand entrance to the venue, receiving a hero’s welcome from the massive crowd.

Ajayi’s presence further energised the gathering, with supporters chanting his name and expressing confidence in his ability to lead Ondo State to a brighter future.

Ajayi was received by the Ondo State PDP Chairman, Bakita Bello, alongside other party stalwarts including the Chairman of the Campaign Council, Dr Eddy Olafeso, and former PDP state chairman, Engr Clement Faboyede.

Party leaders at the event expressed optimism that the mass defection from the APC would give the PDP a significant advantage in the upcoming gubernatorial poll…
