Why are two naked women covered in jam sitting on a bench on Market Street?



This is the moment two naked women apparently covered in jam sat on a bench in the middle of Manchester city centre .

Bewildered shoppers stopped to watch the spectacle as it unfolded on Market Street just before midday on Wednesday (October 10).

A crowd formed around the two women, who sat on a bench outside Barclays bank in the middle of the busy shopping street.Video footage show the women covered head to toe in a red substance sitting side by side.

Other images show them covering themselves in white sheets as two police officers speak to themOne onlooker told the M.E.N that the two women appeared to be covered in what looked like some kind of red jamHe said: "They looked like they were rubbing strawberry jam on each other."


Confused onlookers took to Twitter to try and find out who and why they were there
Issy Thwaite wrote: "Why on earth have I just seen two girls completely naked COVERED IN JAM sat on a bench in the middle of Manchester wiping bread off each other and eating it"While @jacxhhhh commented: "Not every day u see two naked women rubbing jam over themselves in market street yeah."A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said officers are 'looking into' the incident.

They added: "Officers were called to Market Street following reports of two naked women sat on a bench covered in jam.

The First Liberian Civil War ended in August 1997 when Charles Taylor took power as the President of Liberia.  Taylor had initiated the war when he and his militia, the National Patriotic Front of Liberia (NPFL), invaded the country from the Ivory Coast to overthrow President Samuel Doe in December 1989. The NPFL rapidly conquered most of Liberia except for the capital Monrovia, which came under the control of the Independent National Patriotic Front of Liberia (INPFL), a splinter group led by Prince Johnson. The INPFL captured and executed Doe in September 1990 and resisted attempts by the NPFL to take Monrovia, denying Taylor an outright victory and prolonging the war for years. A peace agreement was signed in 1996 between the major factions and resulted in the 1997 Liberian general election.
